Company entering Toronto and Richmond markets

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Oct. 18, 2016 — The Anchor Bar, “The Home of the Original Chicken Wing,” announces that two new franchises are joining the Anchor Bar family in Toronto, Ont., and Richmond, Va.

Burlington, Ont.Anchor Bar Franchisee Owner David Copperthwaiteopened his second Anchor Bar location at 636 Dixon Road in Toronto on Sept.29. The interior of this new location has more the 300seats and numerous 65-inch TVs to watch a variety of sporting events.The patio of the Dixon Roadlocation will replicate the Burlington location, including its beautiful outdoor patio.  A brand new stone fireplace, a fountain wall and comfortable seating will also help customers relax after a long work week, and enjoy a drink and some chicken wings with friends and family.This is the Anchor Bar’s third Ontario franchise and will feature a full slate of Anchor Bar menu items, including wings, pizza, burgers, salads, etc.

The Anchor Bar’s newest franchiseinRichmond will be the first Anchor Bar location in the Southeast. The restaurant is slated to open its doors this coming winter. Franchisee Owner David Allred, a Richmond native, has signed a long-termlease agreement at the Stony Point Fashion Park, at 9200 Stony Point Parkwayin south Richmond.

“I’ve beenwanting to open a restaurant for some time,so when I heard about an opportunity with Anchor Bar,I jumped at the chance,” said Allred. “There just isn’t anything else like it in Richmond,and I think the people here will enjoy the unique flavors you can only find at the Home of the Original Chicken Wing.”

Construction ofthe 8,500-square-foot facility, located at Stoney Point’s former Champps Americana location, is currently underway. The new franchise will feature a sports bar and family dining area where guests will find all of the Anchor Bar staples,including wings and boneless bites, as well as house-made lasagna, pizza and hot sandwiches.
